Install & Setup

Requirements

You'll need an iPhone running iOS 17.6 or later to use RAM Raid.

Please let me know this minimum iOS version requirement prevents you from installing the app.

Create Your Account

If you don't have an account yet, tap the "Sign Up" link on the Sign In screen to get started.

Verify Account

You should receive an email when you click "Sign Up", which should contain a short verification code to enter within the app.

Use your testing account credentials to sign in from the login screen. If you need to reset your password or create a new account, tap "Forgot Password?" or "Sign Up" to access help.

After signing in, you may see a brief loading screen while the app checks your session. If you have biometric authentication enabled, the app may automatically sign you in on future launches.

Main Menu

The main menu is your mission control for territory conquest. Here's what each option does:

Live Metrics

While capturing, you'll see a metrics card displaying:

Pro Tip: Toggle "Keep Screen On" to prevent your phone from auto-locking during a capture. This uses more battery but keeps your map visible the entire time.

Map Controls & Indicators

GPS Signal Indicator

If your GPS signal drops, you'll see a warning banner at the top of the screen. If this happens, pause your capture and wait to regain a clear signal before continuing.

If a link points to my.ramraid.app, the app will automatically open Safari to ensure the session remains trusted and secure.

Known Issues

The following bugs have been confirmed and are under investigation:

Location Permissions

When you first open the app, you'll be asked to allow location access. It's important to enable "Always" location access so the app can accurately track your captured territory, even when running in the background.

Troubleshooting & Tips

GPS Signal Issues

Location access must remain enabled for captures to work. If GPS loss persists, make sure you're outdoors with a clear view of the sky. You can also try reopening the capture sheet to refresh the connection.

Battery Considerations

Background tracking and "Keep Screen On" will use more battery power. Turn off "Keep Screen On" after your session to conserve battery.

Offline Recording

Don't worry if you lose connectivity during a walk or ride. Captures still record offline and will sync automatically once you're back on Wi-Fi or cellular.

Reporting Bugs

When reporting bugs, please include a screenshot and describe what you were doing when the issue occurred.

Beta Testing Tip: Take notes during your sessions about anything that feels confusing or doesn't work as expected. Your feedback helps make RAM Raid better for everyone!
